Maps for Emergency Response and Planning |
Overview
A number of GIS maps produced by the WRC are useful for emergency response and planning. This page is an effort to provide a listing of some of those maps. Most of the maps are not available on-line, but paper copies can be ordered for a small fee, or PDF files can be provided free of charge.
Some WRC Maps useful for Emergency Response and Planning:
- Town road name maps - These maps show all public and named private roads, road classification, and surface. We are in the process of adding important municipal buildings (generally, town office, town garage, fire station, and schools), and noting which Class 4 Town Highways are impassable. A listing of available maps, as well as links to PDFs of all 11x17 maps, is available on WRC's Road Name Maps page.
- E911 Address Maps - These town-wide, large size (generally 24x36 inches and larger) maps show roads, driveways, and structures with their E911 address. These maps are available for only a few towns in the region (for other towns, see "Other Maps" at the bottom of this page):
- Somerset (2011), 11x17, link to map
- Guilford (2009)
- Londonderry (2006)
- Marlboro (2000)
- Weston (2000, 2011 update in progress)
- Wilmington - (2011)
- Village Base Maps/E911 Building Footprint Maps - We have created a number of large-scale, detailed maps of village centers that show building footprints (polygons instead of as points), along with streets, E911 addresses, sidewalks, and often other features as well. PDFs for most are available here. Villages include:
Other Maps:
- E911 Address Maps - The State of Vermont Enhanced 911 Board publishes E911 address atlases of each town the state. General information on Maps and GIS data can be found at http://e911.vermont.gov/e911_map_gis. To view and download PDF files of a town atlas, click on "E9-1-1 Map Atlas" in the box on the right side of the pag, or simply by clicking here.
