Overview
The Southeastern Vermont Bicycle Suitability Map is a project of the Windham Regional Commission's Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee. This map series provides information of interest to cyclists about roads in Southeastern Vermont. This information includes traffic volumes, shoulder suitability, steep grades, cycling opportunities, and cycling hazards. The maps should help cyclists understand the types of conditions they may encounter on these roads and choose appropriate cycling routes through the region.

Status
The map series is currently in production. Two maps have been completed, one for southeastern Windham County (Brattleboro area), and another for northeastern Windham County (Bellows Falls area). We are interested in hearing about errors in these maps, and updates will be made when necessary.

Availability
Since printing large color maps is time consuming and expensive, we instead have decided to create a series of four smaller 11x17 maps with legend and map description information on a fifth sheet. These maps (without their shaded relief backdrop because the file size is huge), are available for viewing or downloading. We ultimately hope to have the maps will also be available for viewing and/or color photocopying at bike shops and tourist information centers throughout the region. For more information, contact Jeff Nugent at 257-4547, x-111 or jnugent@sover.net.
